The company’s primary goal soon became the training of post-war military pilots returning from active duty to work in the early civilian airlines. Plotters, regulations and training manuals were the first products. In 1960, the company broadened its production and development efforts with additional pilot supplies and books added to the ground school training line.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eIn 1969, the company became Northwest School of Aviation under a new owner, Roy Beech. The company’s goal was the franchise of the popular Merrell Ground School under the name “Aviation Seminars of America,” or ASA.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eIn November, 1976, Joe Cucchiari purchased the company. “Aviation Supplies and Academics” replaced Aviation Seminars of America as the name to go with the ASA acronym, and the company again broadened its product line to add cassette courses and new books and training materials. The company was incorporated in 1977. In 1981, Joe Finelli joined the organization, bringing 20 years of experience in printing and publishing with him. Updated to comply with Airman Certification Standards. Flight Record Folders make the CFI’s job easier by providing a record of accomplishments for each lesson, student performance, flight hours, and much more.
ASA’s Student Flight Record Folder for Private Pilot helps flight instructors and flight schools organize and document student progress towards Private Pilot Certification. A folder for each student serves as a permanent training record, accounts for all Areas of Operation and Tasks in the ACS, and satisfies both Part 61 and 141 requirements—including preflight preparation, preflight procedures, airport operations, takeoffs, landings and go-arounds, performance maneuvers, navigation, slow flight and stalls, basic instrument maneuvers, emergency operations, night operations, postflight procedures, multi-engine specific tasks, seaplane specific tasks, and fill-in-the-blank fields for additional tasks.
This folder makes it easy to record accomplishments for each lesson using learner-centered grading. The learner-centered grading scale is a way for the instructor (or another instructor) and/or student to determine the student's level of knowledge and understanding. the flight record section allows for log entries to include date, aircraft number, aircraft type, dual/solo flight time, cross country and night time, instrument instruction, day/night landings ground instruction and simulator time.
