Flying Eyes Hawk sunglasses are designed to be amazingly comfortable under a helmet or aviation-style headset. These ComfortPro Wide-Frame sunglasses are made of a flexible polymer and include interchangeable temples. Their 1mm thin temples and flexibility means that you will not feel them while wearing a helmet or aviation-style headset. And no more noise leaks while wearing a headset either! Each seat of Hawk ComfortPro frames includes three sets of temple options. Standard temples for everyday use, micro-thin temples for use under a helmet or headset and a strap/cinch system for ultimate comfort under an aviation-style headset. They also offer precision manufactured polycarbonate lenses that offer uncompromised clarity and shatter resistance. Options include gradient gray and solid gray tints. Each set of Flying Eyes eyewear comes with its own protective case and a soft, microfiber cleaning cloth/bag. And like all Flying Eyes eyewear, they are prescription compatible.
Here’s what makes Flying Eyes different:
Flying Eyes are convertible between three temple options:
Non-elastic strap and cinch are unnoticeable under headsets
Micro-thin temples for use under a helmet or headset
Standard temples for everyday use
Wraparound style gives a wider viewing angle than most frames
Lightweight, unbreakable Resilamide frames
Soft nose-pad keeps glasses properly positioned and balanced for optimal fit and comfort
Optically correct, shatterproof polycarbonate lenses with 100% UV400 protection
Summer Hawk Optics now offers Flying Eyes Hawk prescription sunglasses.
Ordering Process
When you order prescription sunglasses, we will first send you a pair of frames with plain clear lenses, to allow you to try the frames on and be sure you love the fit and comfort. Also, due to the nature of Flying Eyes’ 8-base frame, we require exact physical measurements from your optometrist when you give us your prescription information. Once you’ve tried on the frames at home, you will take them with you to your optometrist for proper “pupillary distance” measurements.
Once you send us your optometrist-provided measurements, we will have your lenses made and send you your custom Flying Eyes prescription sunglasses. We provide you with a pre-paid return label to send back the clear-lens fitting pair.
Why the back and forth? While the frames come with a money-back guarantee, prescription lenses are not refundable. They can only be exchanged if there’s a manufacturing defect.
HIGHEST QUALITY
The lenses for our prescription sunglasses are made by Digital Eye Lab using Shamir lenses which is one of the highest quality lens manufacturers in the world. And, the lenses are constructed from Trivex which is similar in durability to polycarbonate but with even more optical clarity. They’re also often lighter weight than many other materials, depending on the prescription. And, all prescription lenses offer UV400 — 100% UV protection — and are coated for scratch protection.
PRESCRIPTION REQUIREMENTS
We will need a copy of your prescription and we will also need two additional bits of information in order to complete your prescription sunglasses. First is the pupillary distance and second is the segment height if you’re ordering bifocals or progressive lenses. This information can be obtained very easily by your optometrist.
Prescription strength range available is -4.00 to +4.00. If your prescription falls outside this range, please do contact us anyway to discuss options.
You can email your prescription to eyewear@flyingeyesoptics.com and we’ll review it and contact you to go over it as well as your options. If you have ordered prescription lenses from us before and wish to replace them, please email us also.
ADDITIONAL OPTIONS
Your optician may also be able to have prescription lenses made for your Flying Eyes sunglasses. Bear in mind that wrap sunglasses like ours (called an “8 base” frame) are difficult to create and while many prescription labs can create lenses for 8 base frames, only a few have the ability to create lenses that are the quality and clarity that you require — if not done properly, there can be significant distortion in your peripheral vision.
