CERTIFIED AeroLEDs - SunSpot 36-4587 HX Aircraft Taxi Light w/pulse, 28V

The SunSpot 36-4596 LED Taxi Light with Pulse has a built-in pulse feature that significantly increases recognition in daylight and at night to help avoid midair collisions. It is easy to use and install and simply requires a synch circuit to sync the pulse feature. The SunSpot also uses half the power compared to traditional halogen lights. AeroLEDs suggest that the pilot switch to pulse or wigwag after takeoff and remain in this mode throughout the flight. The SunSpot series lights are mounted in the wingtips, cowling, or landing gear. If you have a PAR 36 ring mount, the SunSpot 36 series fits your aircraft! This light is FAA, STC, and PMA certified. This is a potent light source at 11,000 lumens and 50,000 candelas!

About AeroLEDs SunSpot 36 Series Lamps

AeroLEDs SunSpot 36 Certified LED landing and taxi lights consume less power, output more lumens (total light output), and are not affected by vibrations than incandescent bulbs. These attributes make the SunSpot ideal for experimental, certified, commercial, and military aircraft. The SunSpot series outputs a wider beam that illuminates an object's color due to the blue-green color temperature instead of “grayed” out images from an incandescent lamp's orange-red color temperature. AeroLEDs offers several SunSpot 36 (PAR 36) drop-in replacement options that are PMA and STC certified.

LX vs. HX

The SunSpot 36 Series LX performs as a standard light with the constant “on” mode. The HX version includes an integrated Pulse or WigWag feature that greatly increases recognition in broad daylight and night operation to avoid midair collisions. Additionally, while in the recognition mode, the SunSpot’s draw half the current. AeroLEDs recommends that the pilot switch to Pulse or WigWag after takeoff and remain in this mode throughout each flight. The SunSpot series lights are designed to be mounted in the Wingtips, leading-edge, cowling, or landing gear. If you have a PAR 36 ring mount, the SunSpot 36 series will fit your aircraft.
